Pick up from Nairobi and drive to Samburu National Reserve. 

Afternoon game drive

Samburu National Reserve, situated in Northern Kenya, is a distinguished game reserve nestled along the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River. Covering a vast, pristine wilderness spanning 165 square kilometers, it shares its southern border with the Ewaso Ng’iro River, which separates it from the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Samburu Reserve stands out as a remarkable sanctuary for wildlife conservation, renowned for its remarkable population of rare animal species, including the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and Beisa Oryx. Additionally, the reserve is home to a thriving population of nearly 900 elephants.

Full Day Game Drives in Samburu National Reserve. 

Samburu offers a range of exhilarating activities, and among the most thrilling is the safari game viewing and bird watching. Thanks to Samburu’s favorable geography and climate, exceptional wildlife sightings are guaranteed throughout the year. Another sought-after experience is the Samburu cultural tour, providing visitors with a captivating glimpse into the unique way of life of the renowned Samburu people, a pastoralist and warrior tribe found in Kenya and other parts of East Africa. Moreover, you can partake in nature walks, camel trekking safaris, bush meals, and sundowners, all of which are popular activities that enhance the experience of tourists visiting Samburu National Reserve.

After breakfast proceed to Olpejeta Conservancy 

Ol Pejeta Conservancy, spanning 360 square kilometers, is a non-profit wildlife sanctuary located in the heart of Laikipia County in Central Kenya. It is positioned on the equator to the west of Nanyuki, nestled between the foothills of the Aberdares and the majestic Mount Kenya.

After lunch, visit the rhino & chimpanzee sanctuary at Olpejeta Conservancy.

The conservancy proudly hosts East Africa’s most extensive black rhino sanctuary, achieving a significant milestone in 2013 with a population of 100 black rhinos. Additionally, it serves as the sanctuary for the world’s last two remaining northern white rhinos, relocated from the Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic. Nestled within its boundaries is the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a refuge for orphaned, abandoned, and rescued chimpanzees. Notably, this is the sole location in Kenya where visitors can observe these incredible primates.

You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Chimpanzee Conservancy, established in memory of Joan Goudal, a chimp primatologist who tragically lost her life in Congo. As a result, the chimpanzees were relocated to Sweet Waters, ensuring their well-being and protection.

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Nakuru.

Arrive in Lake Nakuru National Park and proceed directly on a game drive.

Hot lunch and afternoon game drive 

Lake Nakuru bird life is world-renowned and offers over 400 species of both aquatic and terrestrial birds.

Lake Nakuru animals include Black and White Rhino, buffalo, leopard, lion, Rothschild’s giraffe, White and Black Colobus monkey, eland, steenbok, impala, Chandlers Reedbuck, dik-dik, rock hyrax, klipspringer, hippo and clawless otter.

This morning we depart the hotel after breakfast and drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino.

Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive.

The Mara Game Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, and easy to see.

Residents among the Park’s are: Maasai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousand of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles.

Overnight at  Mara Sopa 

Early morning breakfast and depart the lodge with your packed lunch boxes for a full day game viewing across the rich tree-studded grassland and rolling hills. At lunchtime, our guide will pick a scenic (and safe) spot where you will enjoy your lunch and hear animals howling, birds chirping and the mighty Mara River flowing across the savannah bringing life to the park. After watching more of the spectacle that never gets dull, transfer back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay in Mara Sopa
