Our driver guide will pick you from the airport after arrival and drop you in Arusha town for dinner and overnight.

Dinner and Overnight at Planet Lodge

You will be picked up from Arusha by your driver guide and depart to Tarangire National Park for full day morning and evening game drive. You will first check in at your lodge, refresh and then depart for a full day wildlife viewing in the park, Tarangire National Park is best known for its large populations of elephants with estimated 2,500 individuals and the beautiful gigantic Baobab trees, the Tarangire River and various bird species.

After breakfast you will you will go for a sunrise morning game drive en-route to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is the smallest park in Tanzania but with a variety of wildlife for viewing you will have a chance to see zebras, wildebeests, bushbacks, dik-diks, guinea fowls among other wildlife. You’ll drive through bush tracks and explore the Lake which is home of thousands of Flamingos and River’s twists and turns, finding elephants drinking and playing in the refreshing waters. In the late afternoon you will do an optional short hike down the Great Rift Valley as well as visit to the local community, during the hike you will have a chance to enjoy the sounds of the forest and waterfalls surrounding the trails. You will have a picnic lunch and do more game drive to sunset before you drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you will drive to Serengeti national park heading in a northwesterly direction. Head up the winding, switch-back road and into the Ngorongoro Highlands continue to the Serengeti national park (endless plain) for afternoon to sunset game drive before heard to your overnight camps for dinner and overnight.

This day you will have full day game drives to discover Serengeti National Park. This will give you an opportunity to sight big cats – Cheetahs, leopards and Lions. You do a 6am sunrise game drive to search for early bird grazers followed by a bush breakfast at 8am after you will proceed with a game drive to search for more wildlife at lunch time you have a picnic lunch and relax as you feel the beautiful Serengeti. After lunch you will proceed with your afternoon game drive through Mara river areas and later you will retrieve back to the lodge for overnight and dinner.

Early breakfast before you drive for a full day game drives in the Serengeti park. On this day you will try to follow migration groups around Mara river area. In the evening drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Some of the wildebeests groups don’t cross the river and you might catch them around Mara River area.

Morning sunrise game drives after transfer with en-route game drives to Ngorongoro Crater rim for dinner and overnight. On your way you will visit Retima Hippo pool for amazing views of hippos and other wildlife. You will as well have the option of passing through The Olduvai Gorge. This area is where many incredible archaeological discoveries have been found. It’s also a beautiful area with lush, grassy land and Tanzanian Acacia trees sweeping majestically on the landscape. Another option would be to visit a Masai Village and learn their nomadic culture and enchanting singing and dancing. You should surely try to compete with the Maasai males high jumps!

After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports avast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world! The crater is home to over 25,000 large mammals and was the result of an erupted volcano thousands of years ago. The animals live in harmony in the huge, walled crater which also houses stunning lakes, lush forests and vast plains. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. It’s an awesome wildlife experience. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually have been seen here.

Our driver will drop you back to the Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back home to end the 9 Days Best of Serengeti Great Migration Safari.
