Today get involved in helping disadvantaged communities is both an opportunity to engage with local people and a rewarding way for socially responsible travellers to ‘give something back’. While there are many wealthy areas in Nairobi, other districts are home to low-income and disadvantaged families and children, and the grinding poverty they endure is very challenging and bad for their health. One Horizon initiates sustainable development programs in needy communities, and today you will help to prepare and serve a hearty and nutritious Kenyan lunch at a children’s feeding centre or ‘soup kitchen.’. You will have a fun and energetic day filled and you will pitch in with the chores like peeling and chopping fresh fruit and vegetables and cooking
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Your Kenya wildlife safari starts. Close to300 different species have already been recorded. You will arrive in Samburu in time for lunch. After lunch you will embark on a game drive in search of resident wildlife species like the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, and the blue-necked Somali ostrich, all of which are rare elsewhere in the country. Your dinner and overnight will be at the spectacular lodge.Hotel:Samburu Simba Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

After a comfortable breakfast, we depart stunning Lake Nakuru for the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the jewel among Kenya’s game reserves. The enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains and is well-known for its spectacular wildebeest migration. It is the true home of the BIG FIVE:Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape Buffalo. Its name derives from the Maasai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area, who still call the wide plains of Kenya and northern Tanzania home. As we travel through Maasai land, we occasionally come across a solitary Maasai Moran (=Warrior) standing on forefoot while herding hundreds of cows, goats and sheep. His only defense against the dangerous wildlife surrounding him to all sides is a single stick or spear!Upon arrival in the Maasai Mara, we comfortably take lunch at our camp before exploring the huge reserve on a late afternoon game drive. In the evening, we relax around the campfire and enjoy an excellent dinner.Hotel: Keekorok Lodge/Mara Simba Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Add-on-Early morning Hot Air Balloon Safari–USD 450 per person extra There is nothing more peaceful and dramatic than drifting over the savannah as the sub peaks over the horizon and floods the land with light.Alternatively, sleep in a bit before going on another full day game drive and have some amazing wildlife encounters. Enjoy breakfast at the lodge. This day of Safari adventure is exclusively spent in the Maasai Mara. We look out for the park’s Big Cats, the Big Five and the abundance of wildlife and natural wonders found in Kenya’s most famous game reserve. Remember to keep a sharp lookout;you may witness a dramatic hunt, a solitary Leopard retrieving its kill from thigh branches of an acacia tree, or ahead of Elephants protecting their young from predators. The Maasai Mara has one of the richest wildlife ensembles in the world, hosting over 95 species of mammals and over 400 species of birds.Game viewing is never dull here, and patience is usually rewarded with unique sightings.Hotel: Keekorok Lodge/Mara Simba Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Between July and October (usually best in July and August), we can witness the famous Wildebeest and Zebra migration from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara. A massive accumulation of 1.5 million Wildebeest, 200,000 Zebras and 350,000 Gazelles stretch their legs over 2000km in an annual race to find enough water and green grass for their survival
After a good night’s sleep, we wake up early for a spectacular morning game drive. The Maasai Mara has been the setting of the well-known movie ‘Out of Africa’.It’s astonishing wildlife is the star of the show, providing drama and intrigue against the backdrop of a spectacular scenery.Fueled by our impressions, we take breakfast in the mid-morning hours, before returning to our lodge for a proper breakfast. After breakfast, we start our journey back to Nairobi, enjoying lunch on the way. In Nairobi, our driver safely brings you back to your hotel.Add-on–The Carnivore Restaurant Experience.Experience Nairobi’s most exotic meal at The Carnivore Restaurant, choosing between an all-you-can-eat lunch or dinner in a garden setting.Fill your plate with ostrich, crocodile, and camel meats roasted on Maasai swords over a charcoal pit then carved table side. Both lunch and dinner include soup and a range offside dishes, followed by desserts and Kenyan coffee.Hotel : Tamarind Tree/Movenpick Meals: Breakfast

Morning after breakfast, you will be briefed by the tour guide and you shall begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park for overnight via the equator.Hotel : Buhoma Lodge Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Early in the morning you will be transferred to the park headquarters for clearance, briefing and allocation. After briefing and completing park formalities, you embark on a once-in-a lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth. You get so close to these awesome giant primates, staring at each other blankly not knowing who will break the long silence first.Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Volcanoes is a magical experience. These massive primates are extremely rare with less than 900 living today. You will get within meters of the family and be privileged to spend an hour amongst them. The trekking may be fairly strenuous, up to six hours or longer at a relatively high altitude. We encourage you, for your own enjoyment, to make sure that you are perfectly fit and healthy. (We’ve had people of70 years old do gorilla tracking so this should not be a problem, all you need is to ask your driver guide to request a shorter group trip for you if you cannot trek far). It is important to bring good hiking boots, long trousers, gloves for protection against stinging nettles, some snacks & sweets (for you, not the gorillas) as well as sufficient water as the rain forest gets hot and humid during the day. You will spend on hour with the gorillas, but it is an hour you will never forget. Return to your hotel for lunch and later dinner and overnight
Transfer back to Entebbe airport to end the trip Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
